#282 Competent Skills

The skills you will develop on this course will help you become more confident and competent in managing written and social aspects in your current career. It will [1] you for further study in your area of interest. We plan to provide you with the opportunity to hear about the work of professors who have been involved in the past. We have had confirmation that they will give talks on their subjects [2] to your group, and help you to clarify potential future directions you might take in your study and career. There are also dedicated careers services available at the University, [3] you will be entitled to use. The assessments for the first part of the program are designed to develop key study skills and to provide you with the opportunity to brush up on skills you haven't used for a long time, or feel you do not have. This will include some written work essays, as well as group work (short presentations) and you will be taught how to do these. [4] of the assessment for each module will be explained in your first session.
